Program Description
Event Details
In 1620, the Pilgrims made their voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to North America. They came to these shores seeking religious freedom and found an untamed inhospitable wilderness fraught with innumerable dangers. They struggled with disease and death and survived through the grace of God and with the help of the "People of the Dawn" - the Wampanoag Nation. Join Historian Christopher Daley as he discusses the Pilgrim’s difficult voyage across the Atlantic and their decision to settle at Plymouth, the hardships they faced during their first winter there and their interactions with the Wampanoag and other Native peoples of the region.
Christopher Daley holds a B.A. and an M.A. from Bridgewater State University in Political Science and History. He has been speaking all over New England for the past 30 years and virtually via Zoom throughout the United States for the past two years on historical topics of interest; at libraries, historical societies, schools and all sorts of clubs and organizations.
